Sapphire Fund Sunday Brunch
May 22nd — Still smiling from the success of our keystone fundraiser, Blue Ball, Sapphire Fund continues our successful fundraising efforts this spring. In support of our beneficiaries, we are putting together a Sunday brunch, the likes of which you’ve never seen. Brunch will be served at the homes of several Sapphire Fund friends and board members. After brunch, a tea will follow at the favorite Philly watering hole 12th Air Command, bringing together ALL of the brunch guests from every location, mingling in a community of Sapphire Fund supporters.
But wait, there is more! During the brunch there will be a raffle in which anyone, brunch presenter or guest, can try their luck at winning one of three fabulous prize packages. The three lucky winners will be announced at the tea.
It is the Sapphire mission to provide funding and resources to strengthen new and existing organizations that are designed to have a positive impact on the GLBT and HIV/AIDS communities. This unique approach to brunch is a wonderful outgrowth of the community spirit we share during the Blue Ball season. It is this spirit of unity, awareness and pride that Sapphire Fund works to foster year-round.
Brunch will be held on Sunday, May 22nd 2005 from 1pm-4pm. Brunch donations vary by location and INCLUDE admission to the tea. Please contact the Sapphire Fund office, starting April 21st, to reserve your spot or get more information. Call (267) 514-2088 or email info@sapphirefund.org.
Raffle tickets will be sold during the brunch for $5 each or 5 for $20.
Proceeds from this event benefit The Center for Lesbian and Gay Civil Rights, St. Mary’s Family Respite Center and The William Way LGBT Community Center.

Sapphire Fund High End Donor Reception
September 23, 2004 — Individual giving has been a cornerstone of the success of Blue Ball and Sapphire Fund for many years. To kick off this year's fundraising efforts, the Sapphire Fund's High End Donor Reception was held, once again, at the home of Mr. Peter DiForte and Mr. John Rolland in the Barclay, overlooking Rittenhouse Square. Guests enjoyed cocktails and delicious hors d'oeuvres by Tim Bellew in a wonderful Philadelphia landmark.
This event was a huge success last year, helping to set the stage for a substantial increase in individual support of the Fund. In addition to donating $80,000 to our beneficiaries, we were able to inaugurate the Sapphire Fund endowment so that in future years we will become self sustaining.
This year the event was attended by over 50 people and Individual Giving has exceeded $40,000 as of October 14th, far beyond last years mark.
We are encouraging the philanthropic community to continue its vital role in support of the mission of Sapphire Fund and the GLBT community of Philadelphia.
High End Donor levels of support are Angel, $1,000; ArchAngel, $2,500 and Guardian Angel, $5,000 and supporters enjoy exclusive benefits throughout the Blue Ball weekend including VIP tickets, a VIP reception and an invitation to the ever popular Sapphire Brunch - events that are available only to Angel donors.
